CosmicVoid
CosmicVoid, like many of my ideas, was inspired from viewing other games already made. Not to say I am not original, but I see potential and betterment, where it exists. For this here, we have CosmicVoid, a game formulated upon the framework and mechanics of Prismata. It has been advised against me to compare my works with existing games, as being unprofessional, but I will just list three main reasons that I believe our game stands out on.
First, asymmetric Factions. No two game is ever the same in our case, whereas the only asymmetry in theirs is based on random deck draw, and even then, both sides share the same units entirely!
Second and third, we feel they made things that should be simple, complex, and made things that should be complex, simple.
Let me explain. For the first, Resources have 6 different types, whereas in our game, we simply have 2. The reason for this is known by me, it is the way they try to inject a little asymmetry, having people pursue different technological pathways or routes, by researching different Resource types, and in this way introduce some level of asymmetry.
Thirdly, making things that should be complex, simple. The greatest potential in a game like this is in going wild with the powers and potential of what a unit can do in the game. I found Prismata's units bland, without any real overarching strategy to their use. In our game, since everything is computed, it is not uncommon to have a unit with 4 or more Abilities and Powers.
That said, we recognise the good efforts of any programmer who are dedicated in their passion, and hope that this competition and rivalry will bring out the best out of all of us. A rising tide floats all boats. Thank you, and keep a look out for this game in the future, by staying updated on our website!
